Privacy policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
StoryQuest is made by StoryQuest. This policy explains what StoryQuest collects, why, and the choices you have. We do not show ads, we do not sell data, and StoryQuest has no accounts, names or email addresses.
What we collect
- A random device code created by the app when it first opens. We use it to keep your stories together, to apply fair use limits and to give each new user one free scene.
- Your story choices and ideas. The choices you pick and the ideas you type or say for Something else or Make your own are stored with your story, because they are what your story is made from. Voice is turned into text by your Fire TV; we only receive the text.
- Purchase information. When you buy Sparks, Amazon gives us an anonymous purchase user code and a receipt so we can add the Sparks to your balance. Amazon handles payment; we never see your card or your Amazon account details.
- Scene reports. When you report a scene we store the reason you picked with your device code, so we can review it and stop repeated reports.
- Basic server logs such as IP addresses and request times, kept for up to 30 days for security and to stop abuse.
How stories are made
To write and film a scene we send the story so far and your idea to our service providers: OpenRouter (passes it to the AI model that writes the scene) and fal (films the video). They process this text and images only to make your scene.
Sharing
When you finish a story you can share it with a link or QR code. Anyone with that link can watch that story. Stories you do not share are not listed anywhere. Scenes on the free daily stories are shared by everyone who picks the same path; scenes made from your own ideas belong only to your story.
Children
StoryQuest is made for families watching together. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ideas typed or spoken in the app are used only to make the story, and we ask families not to include names, addresses or other personal details in their ideas. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a story at any time.
How long we keep data
Stories are kept so you can watch and share them again. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. Purchase records are kept as long as required for accounting.
Your choices
Contact [email protected] to delete your stories or ask what we hold. Include the share link of the story so we can find it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
